Hello! I started my career at VMware after I graduated with a BS in Human Computer Design Engineering from the University of Washington. It was an exciting time at VMware as the company was growing extremely fast. At VMware, I gained a depth of experience leading engineering teams through all stages of the engineering design process. As a lead designer, I was exposed to development and release schedule collaboration between cross-functional teams. Although user research was not my main role, I spent time exploring user research methodologies as well. Towards the end of my time at VMware, as I gained seniority, I took side projects outside of my day to day to evangelize user experience to the rest of the company, lecture on campus recruiting trips and mentor junior staff.
After VMware, I started my own company, Sparxo. I was Director of Product and eventually took the role of Chief Operations Officer. In contrast to the depth of knowledge I gained specializing in user experience at VMware, my role at Sparxo exposed me to all parts of building a product and a company. This breadth of knowledge also came with the responsibility of building teams, aligning visions, and developing processes.
I bring teams together to solve problems in complex systems. I have a passion to create beautifully designed, well architected, and easy to use products that result in magnitudes of improvement in business goals. I thrive to be the bridge between user experience design and product development. This is how amazing products see the light of day and business objectives are met.
